Two Individuals Formally Indicted with Jail Killing of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins
Two men have been formally charged with murder in the wake of the jailhouse death of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.
Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 have both been charged with murder and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to investigating officers.
Watkins, 48, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes which included the tried rape of a very young child.
Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were taken as evidence.
